On the night from Friday to Saturday, April 18, another break-in occurred at the money machine at the car wash near Intermarché. Łukasz Dudzic, the car wash owner, sent us surveillance footage and complains about crimes going undetected.
To keep up the tradition, another Saturday break-in at 1:30 a.m. Judging by the way it was carried out, I conclude that these are the same people as usual. But that is not what is irritating—the actions of the Bolesławiec police are.
First, they included the previous break-ins in a single investigation. What is this about? Statistics. Although they were reported separately, they combined everything because the perpetrators certainly will not be identified and the investigation will be discontinued. I am 100% sure of that. What can you expect? But this is also about statistics. In the statistics at the end of the year, they will boast of a decrease in crime (turning 3 into 1) and thus a lower rate of undetected crime (instead of 3 undetected and discontinued crimes, there will be 1). It will give them something to boast about in their annual report. They will also help the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec with its undetected-crime statistics.
Second, what are the police officers concerned with? Instead of looking for criminals, they are interested in estimates and other damage. They lost the disc containing the recording of the break-in, which was sent with the report! How are they supposed to find the perpetrators if they have such a mess in their own office?
What they are best suited for, as we see in the media, is harassing citizens for not wearing a mask or for other nonsense. Such a person is easy to catch and punish. It is a good thing they have the military to help them, because they would not have managed without them either.
