The Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival celebrations have come to an end. The star of Sunday evening was Indios Bravos, performing music on the borderlands of rock, blues and reggae. Piotr Banach and Piotr “Gutek” Gutkowski’s band played a fantastic concert. The band members had a great time on stage. It was clear that the music they create is their passion.
The band performed, among others, songs such as “Here, Where I Am”, “Tak to tak”, “Małpa”, “Wolna wola” and “Dzień dzisiejszy”. There were also songs from Piotr Banach’s solo album “Wu-Wei”. The people of Bolesławiec heard, among others, “Jego piosenkę o miłości” and “To samo”.
Gutek drew the audience’s attention above all. The Indios Bravos vocalist is a true force of nature on stage. The musician proved that he is one of the most charismatic figures on the Polish music scene.
Earlier, after 4 p.m., Lublin’s Orkiestra św. Mikołaja performed at Popiełuszki Square. In its arrangements, the band uses rare instruments such as the dutar and dulcimers. They are what make the “Mikołaje” sound so unique. The Bolesławiec audience had the opportunity to hear truly exceptional music inspired by Slavic folklore, including Polish, Lemko and Hutsul traditions. It is only a pity that so few people watched the band’s performance.
After 6 p.m., the concert by the Romanians from Fanfara Kalashnikov began. They played klezmer music with elements of polka, bossa nova, waltz and even mambo. A volcano of energy—that is the shortest way to describe their performance. Goran Bregović himself could envy them their incredible brass sound.
