During the renovation, one part of the roadway was closed, while traffic on the other was controlled in alternating directions by traffic lights. From 7 April 2020, construction work will move to the other part of the roadway, with alternating traffic operating there at the same time.
The asphalt wearing course on both traffic lanes will be laid after all work on the bridge surface has been completed.
Let us recall. At the beginning of September 2019, Bolesławiec County Head Tomasz Gabrysiak received from the Lower Silesian Voivode a pledge of funding for the renovation of the bridge on Mostowa Street, amounting to PLN 2,320,000 in total. The entire project is valued at PLN 2,900,000. Money from the Fund for Local Government Roads will cover as much as 80% of the expenses; the remainder will be covered by Bolesławiec County and the City of Bolesławiec from their own budgets.
What work will be carried out?
The bridge renovation involves dismantling bridge deck elements; reprofiling and forming slopes on the roadway and pavements by applying a profiling layer to the bridge deck slab using PCC mortars, together with sidewalk caps; renovating the supports; and providing corrosion protection for the structural elements of the spans.
