Could you publicize the issue concerning the gynecology clinic for women on Jeleniogórska Street? What about appointments for pregnant women, and how should they have tests done if the laboratory is closed?

There is no information anywhere, and nobody knows anything. Apparently the clinic is closed, but nobody can say anything more.

“We cannot receive patients at the hospital’s clinics because it is a dedicated infectious-disease hospital, the so-called contaminated hospital. Patients’ presence in the clinic area would pose a potential risk to them. This also applies to the laboratory and other organizational units of the hospital,” Kamil Barczyk, director of the ZOZ in Bolesławiec, told istotne.pl Kamil Barczyk. “The Hospital Emergency Department is an exceptional place in this situation; it operates on an emergency basis, in acute, sudden, life-threatening cases. We managed to separate a clean area and the so-called contaminated area there.”

So what should expectant mothers in spe do? “Women can report to nearby centers. Gynecology services are available in Lwówek, Lubań and Zgorzelec. Patients from the northern part of Bolesławiec County can contact Żagań or Żary, or, alternatively, seek help in Lubin or Legnica,” the director adds. “Unfortunately, it is inconvenient.”

(It is also possible—after arranging the details by phone—to make an appointment for a private visit in Bolesławiec).
