The website www.eko-cieplo.com has been launched. Residents of the City of Bolesławiec interested in taking part in the grant competition and receiving an EU subsidy for replacing their boiler can use it to register and contact auditors. An energy audit of the building is the basis for taking part in the grant competition.
We remind you that the City of Bolesławiec is one of the partners in an EU project that received funding from the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
For Bolesławiec residents, this means that in the near future (in approximately two months) the Municipality will announce a competition in which they will be able to apply for money to replace boilers.
What is a grant competition?
Every EU subsidy is awarded through a competition, which means that it will go only to residents who meet specific conditions in line with the guidelines of the institution announcing the competition.
Who is the grant competition intended for?
It is intended for residents who own single-family homes, have their ownership status in order and have so far heated their households with solid fuels, i.e. coal\wood. Homes with a good thermal standard (that is, insulated and sealed) will be given preference. In other words, as little heat as possible must “escape” from the building. Residents who have just started building a house are excluded from applying for the subsidy.
Which new heating installations can receive a grant?
As part of the grant, it will be possible to replace the existing system with highly convenient and inexpensive-to-run heat pumps, as well as gas installations, biomass boilers or electric heating installations (provided they are powered by energy from the household’s own photovoltaic system). Replacement with oil-fired or coal-fired boilers is not permitted, even if they are state-of-the-art.
How much is the subsidy?
The subsidy for residents under the project will amount to 85 percent of the eligible costs of the new heating installation, but no more than PLN 35,000.
What is the purpose of an energy audit of the building?
Residents of Bolesławiec interested in applying for an EU grant must have an energy audit of their building carried out (the audit must be completed before the Municipality announces the grant competition). The audit will tell us, for example, how much heat our new heating installation needs to produce and whether our boiler room is ready for new heating technologies at all, as well as whether the heating source we have selected is the optimal solution for the house. The auditor will also provide an initial cost estimate for the new heating installation.
Where can you find an auditor?
A list of accredited auditors can be found on the website www.eko-cieplo.com. (The list will be visible after registration—in the Grant Beneficiary Panel).
Before contacting an auditor, it is worth preparing answers to four questions:
- how many people use the household?
- what is the floor area of the heated building?
- how much solid fuel was burned over the past three years (coal, wood; provide the amount in kg)?
- what is the preferred new heating source?
An energy audit is an ineligible cost, which means that we will not receive reimbursement for this service.
