The incident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Polna and Cieszkowskiego streets. The driver of a red Ford Fiesta, while leaving Polna Street, failed to yield the right of way to the truck driver and caused a collision. As a result of the crash, the driver and two passengers of the car were taken to hospital. The man driving the Ford was drunk. He had almost 1.5‰ of alcohol in his system.

As if that were not enough, the perpetrator did not have a driving licence. It had previously been taken away from him for driving under the influence. The Ford driver has a broken collarbone. The two passengers of the car suffered minor bruises. Traffic on the ring road was moving alternately in both directions. For driving without a licence (violating a court ban), the driver faces up to three years in prison. The man will also be held responsible for causing the collision.

The Ford Fiesta driver underwent a series of examinations at the hospital. It turned out that, in addition to the injured collarbone, he had a serious spinal injury. The man was transported by helicopter operated by the Polish Medical Air Rescue to a hospital in Wrocław.
