We were informed about the incident by a Reader. Hurricane Julia uprooted a tree at Freedom Square in Bolesławiec. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Let us recall. Forecasters had warned of strong winds, which in gusts were expected to reach as much as 110 km/h. And indeed, strong winds blew across our county in the evening and overnight. However, it appears that Hurricane Julia caused fewer problems for the emergency services and residents than Cyclone Sabine.
We have information about several fallen trees. OSP Gromadka:
We were dispatched to a fallen tree on the Gromadka–Wierzbowa road.
(Uniformed personnel from OSP Wierzbowa also took part in this operation).
Volunteer firefighters from Różyniec reported an operation involving a fallen tree between Kraśnik and Krzyżowa.
Overnight, the wind also brought down trees in Nowa Wieś Kraśnicka and Ocice. (In the latter case, the tree damaged the barriers).
