If weather conditions permit, IMGW wants to begin securing the damaged roof cladding of the upper saucer on Śnieżka as soon as possible, perhaps as early as today. The work should be completed within a few days.
KPN adds:
As soon as the danger has passed, the trails to Śnieżka will be reopened [...].
Why is Śnieżka closed?
– Temporary safeguards are intended to eliminate the danger to third parties posed by loose sheets of metal. More extensive renovation work, according to information from our partners, is planned for spring, representatives of Karkonosze National Park report.
