A reader asked us to raise the issue. She emailed us, describing the situation of people who have to travel along Nadrzeczna Street after rainfall. She also sent us photos and a video of driving through the enormous puddle that forms on this small street at the entrance from Dolne Młyny.
I would like to ask whether you could raise in your pages the issue of Nadrzeczna Street, which during rainfall is practically impassable, while crossing it on foot is completely impossible. We report the problem to the Mayor, who is responsible for the road, but our requests are passed on—although it is not known where or to whom. We therefore ask the Fire Brigade for help in pumping out the water, but the firefighters do not undertake this task because there is no threat to life or property. Please intervene, because I do not know whom to turn to. It took us ten years of asking to get street lighting. We have only had it for a few months. I have lived on this street for ten years, and I would like to know whether, 1,500 metres from the city centre, residents of Nadrzeczna Street have to drown in mud—fortunately, no longer in darkness.
We asked spokesperson Agnieszka Gergont about the matter. Construction of a new road is scheduled to begin in 2020. The official response is below.
Last year, street lighting was installed on Nadrzeczna Street. This year, design work is planned for the construction of a new road, including drainage. Road investments are handled by the Public Procurement and Municipal Investments Department.
We hope the investment begins as soon as possible.
