From 3 to 7 February this year, the General Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces Championship No. 1 – 11th Armored Cavalry Division in basketball was held at the base of the 4th Anti-Aircraft Regiment in Leszno. After losing four finals in a row, the artillerymen from Bolesławiec achieved a historic victory.
– This is the result of the enormous commitment and hard work of all the players, both before and during the Championship – says coach Maj. Jakub Wołyński – Head of the Physical Education and Sports Section of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec.
The championship team of the 23rd Artillery Regiment comprised: Maj. Jakub Wołyński, Capt. Marcin Nalberczyński, Sgt. 1st Class Michał Bladyn, Senior Private Robert Walkowiak, Senior Private Mateusz Świerzewski, Senior Private Marcin Kozłowski, Senior Private Patryk Dudyński, Senior Private Roland Gródecki, Private Marcin Łupicki, Private Paweł Pająk and Private Damian Gradzik.
Our team played a total of seven matches, defeating in the final the team from the 6th Airborne Brigade of Kraków by a decisive score of 38:29. In addition, the Championship organizers honored a representative of our “golden team” with the title of most versatile player (MVP): Private Marcin Łupicki.
At the end, the winners of the top places and the victorious teams were honored with cups and certificates of recognition.
