As reported by the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit, on Tuesday, February 4 alone, officers from the NoOSG detained and identified a total of 16 foreigners who had failed to comply with Polish regulations. Among them were two Ukrainian citizens, aged 29 and 50, who were working illegally clearing shrubs and tidying up a railway embankment in Bolesławiec.
Majr SG Joanna Konieczniak, spokesperson for the Nadodrze Border Guard Unit:
However, the Ukrainian citizens did not have any documents authorizing them to undertake employment in Poland. The commander of the Border Guard Post in Zgorzelec initiated proceedings that will result in decisions being issued requiring the foreigners to leave Poland.
The spokesperson adds:
The employer who entrusted them with the work will also be held accountable.
