The incident took place on Monday, January 27. A tall man approached the reader as she was returning from shopping at a pharmacy. He complained to her that he was homeless and ill. (He was limping on one leg.)

He asked for financial help and almost immediately burst into tears. He did not smell of alcohol, nevertheless the reader—prudently—asked him about various things. Among other things, she learned that her conversation partner was applying for housing, had a second-degree disability and had been awarded a disability pension. (The man even wanted to show her the relevant documents.)

The woman immediately made it clear that she would not give the self-proclaimed homeless man any money. “Fine, I’ll buy you some bread rolls,” she said.

They went together to a nearby Biedronka. There, without much embarrassment, he began putting increasingly expensive items into the cart, including perfume. Interestingly, at one point he got hot, so he unzipped his jacket. That was when the woman noticed… a huge gold chain.

Fortunately, the store staff reacted in time. From the sales assistants and the security guard, the reader learned that the alleged homeless man was a scammer. And that for about a month he had been approaching people in this way, mainly women who were alone. Terrifyingly, he had reportedly once tried to scam a little girl in the same way.

When it became clear that the entire elaborate plan had failed, the con artist quickly left the scene. The woman went to the... District Police Headquarters. (At the request of the person who reported it, we are publishing this story as a warning.)

What does the clever manipulator look like?

According to the person who reported it, he is a slim, tall man (approximately 180 cm tall). His blond hair has a reddish tinge. That day, the con artist was wearing a padded jacket and distinctive pointed shoes made of white leather.
