Officers from the Independent Police Prevention Unit in Legnica, while serving together with police officers from Police Station II in Jelenia Góra, arrested a 40-year-old man suspected of possessing significant quantities of narcotic drugs and illegally possessing firearms and ammunition.

The 40-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra was arrested by police on 21 January. At around 5:30 p.m., officers stopped a Citroën on Romera Street for a traffic check. The car’s driver was very nervous. It turned out he had a reason: three firearms, ammunition and amphetamine were found in the vehicle.

In total, the police secured eight firearms for which the man did not have a permit, more than 50 rounds of live ammunition, and drugs from which more than 170 individual doses could be prepared.

At the prosecution’s request, the court ordered the Jelenia Góra resident to be held in temporary custody for three months. The 40-year-old now faces a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
