Maria Banaszek was an extraordinary and remarkable woman. She loved dance and taught it at cultural centers and schools in Bolesławiec. In recent months, she had been battling an illness. Her last words to her son were: „An unused muscle tends to waste away, so I exercise. My doctor told me to cry and keep exercising, but I feel well.”

We recently saw Mrs. Maria walking through the city on crutches and striking up friendly conversations with cashiers in a shop. Always positive, always full of life, sociable and close to people.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Maria’s son, Iwo Bruno Pomorski, who shares a few words for his mother through our portal:

Sleep peacefully, my beloved Mom; may Terpsichore watch over you.

Your loving son, Iwo
