We have reported several times that the railway station in the City of Ceramics is planned to be reconstructed. Unfortunately, the investment will definitely be delayed.
The first tender was cancelled because the budget was exceeded. A second one was announced. As transport-publiczny.pl reports:
The deadline for submitting bids expired on Wednesday, 8 January. Ten companies are competing for the contract. The lowest bid was submitted by Linder Polska from Warsaw, which is prepared to carry out the work for gross PLN 15,864,550.47 million. A slightly higher amount was proposed by Pro-Bud from Legnica, which priced the work at gross PLN 15,864,728.74 million. Przedsiębiorstwo Budowlane Sawrem proposed gross PLN 17.328 million, Pre-Fabrykat from Karpacz – gross PLN 17.678 million, Przedsiębiorstwo Remontowo-Budowlane Agad from Toruń – gross PLN 17.974 million, AKBiK from Wrocław – gross PLN 17.985 million, Berger Bau Polska from Wrocław – gross PLN 18.101 million, Przedsiębiorstwo Budowlano-Konserwatorskie Castellum from Wrocław – gross PLN 18.477 million, SKB from Warsaw – gross PLN 20.393 million, and Oz-Bud from Warsaw – gross PLN 20.500 million.
All the new bids – AGAIN! – are higher than expected; PKP SA allocated gross PLN 12.8 million for this purpose. What will happen next with this investment is not known for now.
Let us recall. In August last year, we reported that the railway station in Bolesławiec would be renovated and presented the main assumptions of the investment.
Michał Stilger, spokesperson for PKP S.A.:
The reconstruction of Bolesławiec railway station will include the modernization of the station building and development of the area in its immediate surroundings. Since the building is a historic structure, its form will not change. Only the non-historic extensions added later will be demolished.
What will change?
M. Stilger: “The functional layout of the interiors will change. In addition to facilities related to serving passengers—ticket offices, a waiting room and toilets—they will contain rooms intended for lease. During the reconstruction, the building’s façade will be renovated. The windows and doors will be replaced. The reconstruction will also cover all rooms inside the building, as well as the replacement of ceilings, reinforcement of the roof structure along with replacement of the roofing, downpipes and gutters. The historic ceiling in the waiting room, as well as the barrel-vaulted ceiling in the room for parents with children, will be renovated.”
Will there be monitoring?
“The building will be adapted to modern fire-safety standards,” the spokesperson emphasized. “The station will also become safer thanks to the installation of modern video-surveillance, access-control, and intrusion and hold-up alarm systems.”
What about accessibility for people with disabilities?
The railway company’s representative reassured readers: “The facility will be adapted to serve people with reduced mobility by constructing guiding paths, removing architectural barriers, and adapting the toilets to the needs of people with disabilities.”
Will it become more modern?
Michał Stilger:
Modern voice and visual information systems will also be installed. In accordance with the latest standards, the building will be equipped with a BMS (Building Management System).
Good news for cycling fans
The surroundings of the building will also change, M. Stilger noted. The former public toilet building will be renovated and converted into a bicycle shelter. An additional bicycle parking area will be located nearby.
