The accident occurred on Thursday, January 2, after 6:15 p.m., at a pedestrian crossing on aleja Tysiąclecia in Bolesławiec, near the betting shops.
The 61-year-old man, a resident of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, was crossing the street when he was hit by the driver of an Audi with Zgorzelec registration plates.
It is already known that the person responsible for the accident was the driver of the passenger car, a 24-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. The man was sober. He will now face the court for his actions.
The unconscious injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance. As we have established, the resident of Warta municipality is in critical condition.
It should be added that the pedestrian crossing where the accident occurred is illuminated and also has special flashing signals indicating that a pedestrian is entering the crossing. Collisions have occurred at this location many times.
