The competition, which assesses the proper implementation of the practical vocational training programme, legal protection at work and compliance with health and safety regulations, is organised by Powiat Bolesławiecki together with the Guild of Various Crafts and Small Entrepreneurship. Three of the best craftspeople were selected. First place went to Weronika Bitowska, second to Kamila Lubczyńska, and third to Wojciech Farbotko.
School principals selected the nominees from among 178 vocational teachers—craftspeople and business owners. In making its selection, the panel considered the opinions of students who, under the guidance of master craft workers, gain the experience necessary to succeed in the labour market.
“No government or local authority could promise residents investments without your financial contribution to the central budget or local government budgets,” says county governor Tomasz Gabrysiak. “We receive government subsidies, but your CIT and PIT taxes have a significant impact on what can be achieved through local authorities, including repairing roads and maintaining education.”
