On 20 November, the 8th Lower Silesian Voivodeship Championships of State Fire Service firefighters in badminton were held in Syców. Komenda Powiatowa PSP w Bolesławcu:

The championships are held every year. The competition is always fierce because many firefighters have been playing badminton for years. Experience and physical fitness affect the quality of play. During a single match, players can run as much as a dozen or so kilometres. This sport is more widespread in Asian countries, where players are recognised in city streets.
Interestingly, badminton is the fastest land sport. A feather shuttlecock can reach a speed of 493 km/h.
