The vehicle, valued at PLN 765,921, was purchased with:
- PLN 245,921 from the budget of the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality
- PLN 100,000 from funds obtained by the municipality from the budget of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship as part of the “Improving safety in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in 2019” competition
- PLN 240,000 from grants provided by the Voivodeship Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Wrocław and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management
- PLN 180,000 from the state budget for the National Rescue and Firefighting System.
The new Volvo FL fire engine is equipped with a rapid-attack line with a high-pressure nozzle and foam attachment, a 3,000-liter water tank, a 300-liter foam-agent tank, a dual-range fire pump, a pneumatic-electric lighting mast with LED lamps, radio communications equipment, an electric winch, and front and side sprinklers with a contamination-zone reduction function.
The new vehicle replaced the worn-out 1983 Star 244. Municipal officials say:
Modernizing the unit’s technical infrastructure will certainly improve the effectiveness and safety of rescue and firefighting operations.
The Volunteer Fire Service in Warta Bolesławiecka has been part of the National Rescue and Firefighting System since 2017. It has operated continuously since 1946 and has nearly 50 members, including 31 people in the Operational and Technical Unit.
The municipality adds:
Last year, the unit took part in 118 rescue operations. The firefighters have completed the appropriate training for volunteer firefighter rescuers and systematically improve their skills.
The official handover of the vehicle is scheduled for December.
