As reported on Twitter by Łukasz Kozłowski, chief economist of the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs:

The continuation of major legislative changes. A government bill amending the Excise Tax Act has appeared on the Sejm website. Major changes concern, among other things, tobacco products. The fixed excise duty on cigarettes is to increase by 10%, and the percentage rate by 0.64 percentage points.

According to the money.pl portal, this change is already to guarantee an additional PLN 1.7 billion for the budget in 2020. The same amount is to flow into the state coffers in subsequent years (as indicated by the Regulatory Impact Assessment).

The effect? Money.pl:

The proposed change increases excise duty rates on ethyl alcohol and tobacco products by 10 percent.
