One of the vehicles stopped for inspection was a bus belonging to a Polish carrier, which the driver was returning from Belgium to Kraków. Verification of the vehicle’s technical inspection validity showed that it had expired on 8 November 2019. Administrative proceedings were initiated against the carrier and the transport manager at the company in this regard.

The previous dates of the bus’s technical inspections raised doubts. A detailed analysis of data from the digital tachograph, compared with data in CEPiK, showed that on at least the dates of the two most recent “technical inspections” conducted in Poland, the vehicle was abroad, near the French-Swiss border. In view of the possibility that a crime had been committed, the case was handed over to officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
