A reader informed us that on Thursday morning, after only light rain, the underground passage at the newly renovated PKP railway station in Bolesławiec was flooded. (The man noticed it while accompanying his wife to the train).

“A complete mess,” the informant told istotne.pl. “There’s water everywhere, running down the stairs. The walls are wet. Someone was paid a lot of money for this, and someone should check it.”

As Bohdan Ząbek from the PKP PLK press office informed us, the last allegation is unfounded, because the recently completed renovation did not concern the underground passage, but platform no. 2.

So what went wrong? When there is precipitation, a pump should switch on automatically. It did not work this morning. As B. Ząbek noted, technical services will check why this happened.
