National Independence Day—a celebration of joy, pride and reflection on Poland’s history. Hundreds of Bolesławiec residents attended Holy Mass for the homeland. Afterwards, a countless crowd took part in the roll call of remembrance.

In the evening, the Old Theatre filled to capacity, with no free seats remaining, as the Cantate Deo and Kamerton choirs performed under the direction of Aleksandra Samostrokowa.

A beautiful concert of patriotic songs performed by scouts from the Bolesławiec Szare Szeregi Scout Troop completed the celebrations. “Gaude Mater Polonia,” “Rota,” “My Homeland,” “Infantry,” “The Uhlans Arrived,” “Legions,” “Little War, Little War”—no one needed encouragement to join in singing the songs and hymns close to Polish hearts.

The National Independence Day celebrations were organized by the Bolesławiec District Office with the support of the Municipality of Bolesławiec, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica, the Szare Szeregi ZHP Scout Troop, the District Police Headquarters, the Historical Reconstruction Group of the 6th Kaniowscy Uhlans Regiment, the Municipal Guard, BOK–MCC and MOSiR.
