The disappearance occurred on Thursday afternoon. The 72-year-old woman got lost in the forest between Szczytnica and Tomaszów Bolesławiecki.
Several fire service units and police officers are at the scene. The search for the missing woman is underway.

What to remember when going into the forest
- tell your loved ones about your trip to the forest, indicate the area where you will be staying and when you plan to return
- take reflective items or flashlights with you; thanks to them, you will be more visible at night
- keep a mobile phone with you, as it may be useful in emergency situations
- if you take a dog, be sure to keep it on a leash
- do not carry valuables with you
- for safety reasons, do not enter military training areas (unexploded ordnance may be located there)
- if you take children or elderly people with you, do not let them out of your sight
- remember distinctive features of the area and the numbers on boundary posts; this will help you find your way back more quickly
- if a person gets lost, becomes separated from the group and remains in the forest for an extended period, they should call the emergency number 112 and, if possible, report where they are—the person should look for a granite boundary post (the number shown on the post will make it possible to quickly determine where the missing person is).
Police officers:
If the missing person finds their way back on their own, they should immediately notify the Police that they no longer need assistance.
