They met at Blues nad Bobrem and have been married for almost a decade. They still perform together. We are talking about Paulina and Bartek Gruszeccy.
Last autumn, we reported that the pair of vocalists had taken part in the Polsat show “Śpiewajmy Razem. All Together Now”. This year, the duo participated in “The Voice of Poland”.
After the Blind Audition, they joined Kamil Bednarek’s team. “He is a great person, very laid-back and very open. You can have a normal conversation with him,” istotne.pl was told by Bolesławiec native Bartek Gruszecki. “We are still in touch.”
In the Battle, the married couple faced Daria Kowolik. “We hit it off very well with her and were happy that we would sing with her,” Bartek says.
They won this stage and advanced to the next one. In the Knockouts, they gave a beautiful performance of “Need You Now” from Lady Antebellum’s repertoire. (The entire episode can be watched on the TVP website.) During their performance, Margaret turned to Bednarek and said: “They’re good, you know?” Among others, Baron and Michał Szpak also spoke very warmly about their performance.
Unfortunately, that was where their “The Voice...” adventure ended. “Everyone was shocked that Kamil did not choose us,” says the vocalist from Bolesławiec. “We did not make it to the live episodes, but we are very pleased with the performance itself. We gave it our all. We certainly do not regret choosing that song.”
What did taking part in “The Voice of Poland” give them? As our fellow townsman admits, both of them gained a great deal of confidence.
The show is already behind them, but they do not intend to rest on their laurels. “This month, we want to record a single and release it in December,” Bartek reveals. “Then promotion and concerts. We met in Bolesławiec and would like to start here.”
At the concerts, audiences will hear both original songs by Paulina and Bartek and covers—above all, of the songs the couple performed in the two aforementioned music shows.
Interestingly, the duo is no longer planning to enter any talent shows. Bartek: “The Voice...” is the highest level of music programs in this country.
There will also be an album. The Bolesławiec native says:
We have the material; now it just needs to be properly arranged, recorded, produced and released. We are looking for a publisher.
Although the couple met at BnB, the album itself is to be more pop-oriented. It will, however, include two songs with a soul-blues-rock character. The already familiar song “Mam wszystko” will probably also make it onto the album, but in an updated version. “The album is supposed to sound modern,” Bartek announces. “But there definitely won’t be any dance vibes,” he jokes.
And he adds: “We don’t want to waste our five minutes; we intend to make the most of this time.”
