The public collection was registered by the Studio Wschód Foundation. The purpose of the collection was to carry out the “Save Your Great-Grandfather’s Grave from Oblivion” campaign:

  • transporting votive candles to Lithuania and Ukraine
  • sending volunteers to the Cemetery of the Lwów Eaglets
  • cleaning historic eastern-borderland cemeteries in Ukraine during the summer.

Twenty-three people took part in the collection, including scouts and students from Bolesławiec schools:

  • Primary School No. 5
  • General and Vocational School Complex
  • Mechanical School Complex
  • First General Secondary School
  • Second General Secondary School
  • teachers: Barbara Smoleńska, Elżbieta Hołyńska-Grzesiak and Waldemar Krysztofiak.

Collection coordinators:

Residents of Bolesławiec and visiting guests were eager to support the young people and the campaign for which the funds were being raised.

And they add:

After the collection boxes were officially counted, it turned out that we had raised PLN 4,463. The above amount was transferred to the account of the organizer of the public collection—the Studio Wschód Foundation.

We thank all donors for supporting the campaign to clean cemeteries in the eastern borderlands, and in particular for helping organize the summer trip for young people from Bolesławiec.
