The Road Transport Inspection, in cooperation with the police and the Kierowca.PL Association, has prepared an educational film lasting several minutes that explains how to behave before departure, during the journey and when it ends. The “Safe Bus” film lasts several minutes and can be viewed on the www.kierowca.pl.
– Everyone who is a parent probably knows how traumatic it can be to send a child on a journey with strangers – says Marek Rupental, provincial road transport inspector and co-initiator of the project. – I think the film we have prepared can significantly help parents prepare their children for the journey. It is worth sitting down in front of the computer for several minutes.
During inspections carried out from 1 January to 30 April this year, provincial road transport inspectorates issued more than 750 decisions imposing penalties on carriers. – Among the vehicles inspected that transport children, we impound registration certificates in an average of 5 percent of cases. There are significantly fewer regulatory violations than in previous years – says Alvin Gajadhur, press spokesperson for the Chief Road Transport Inspector. – City buses perform much worse. During inspections, we impound more than 60 percent of registration certificates.
During the holiday season – as part of the “Safe Coach” campaign – intensified road inspections of tourist coaches will be carried out. Road transport inspectors will check the vehicles’ technical condition, drivers’ working hours and sobriety.
Parents can report a coach for inspection before departure. They only need to contact the relevant provincial road transport inspectorate or the officer on duty at the nearest police unit several days in advance. Inspectors or police officers will come to the coach’s departure location or indicate a permanent inspection point to which the vehicle’s driver should report.
