On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Kamerton choir and its director Aleksander Samostrokow a concert by the Kamerton and Cantate Deo choirs was held at the Church of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ on Orzeszkowej Street. As always, choral singing enthusiasts could count on extraordinary musical experiences.

Aleksander Samostrokow’s professional achievements as a teacher

Aleksander Samostrokow was born in 1951. He graduated from the Choral Conducting Department of the Academy of Music in Lviv in 1976. He has extensive experience working with choirs at higher and secondary music schools, as well as with amateur ensembles. He is also a trained pianist and has worked as an accompanist for almost his entire life—from his student years to the present.

In October 1999, the Kamerton choir of the Witold Lutosławski State Music School in Bolesławiec was founded.

Since its establishment, the choir has been active in giving concerts—not only locally and regionally, but also in European Union countries and Eastern Europe (Italy, Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Czech Republic and Ukraine). It takes part in religious services and holiday celebrations. The choir’s professional standard is demonstrated by its awards at festivals, competitions and auditions.

Kamerton choir concert activities

Every year, the choir participates in events organized by the Bolesławiec municipality and city, such as the Star of Kindness, the New Year’s Concert of PSM I and SSM II students, integration Christmas-wafer meetings for people with disabilities from Bolesławiec County, “Maria de Mattias—patron saint of Bolesławiec,” parish and city festivals, Bolesławiec Days and special concerts. It takes part in religious services, including Easter services. Every year, it travels to the Cecilia Gathering of Choirs of the Diocese of Legnica.
