On Saturday, October 19, officers from the Border Guard Post in Wrocław-Strachowice were informed that a passenger departing from Wrocław to Turkey had said, while checking in his luggage, that he had a bomb in one of his bags.
Nadodrzański Oddział SG:
The man was immediately isolated from the other passengers, and the Border Guard officers who arrived at the scene thoroughly checked whether he was carrying any explosives. The traveller’s luggage was also inspected.
No bomb was found. The 49-year-old later explained to the officers that he had been joking. After consulting the prosecutor, the guards fined the “joker” PLN 500.
That was not the end of it, however. The man did not fly to Turkey because... the aircraft captain refused to allow him on board.
