Trains are returning to almost 200 km of modernized tracks, including

  • Szczytno–Pisz,
  • Lublin–Stalowa Wola Rozwadów
  • Czachówek Południowy–Warka.

The timetable change ensures scheduled journeys and the implementation of investments. Additional trains will run for All Saints’ Day and Independence Day.

The October timetable adjustment will be in effect from 20 October to 14 December. PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. and the carriers have jointly prepared a connections offer adapted to passengers’ needs. More than 7,000 passenger and freight trains will run on the tracks every day. At the same time, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. is continuing projects under the National Railway Programme worth nearly PLN 76 billion.

We will travel on new tracks

From 20 October, trains will return to the Szczytno–Pisz section. Passengers will be able to travel directly from Olsztyn to Pisz. They will use more convenient, modernized platforms in Ruciane-Nida, Jeruty, Świętajno, Spychowo and Pisz.

Since 11 October, regional trains have been running along the entire route from Stalowa Wola Rozwadów to Lublin. For the fastest trains, travel time from the capital of the Lublin region to Podkarpacie has been shortened by approximately 15 minutes, from 1 hour 55 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes. Journeys are possible, among other things, thanks to the completion of modernization works on the Stalowa Wola Rozwadów–Zaklików section and the renovation of the bridge over the San River. Passengers use renovated platforms in Lipa, Kępa and Pilchów.

Since 7 October, passengers have been traveling by train from Opole to Nysa without replacement bus transport. Passengers are using further rebuilt platforms in Łambinowice, Budziszowice, Jasienica Dolna and Mańkowice.

On the modernized route from Warsaw to Lublin, the first trains connecting the capital with Puławy will run from 20 October. This is the result of work on the Dęblin–Puławy Miasto section, where new platforms are ready at the Zarzeka, Gołąb, Puławy Azoty, Puławy Chemia, Puławy Miasto and Puławy stations and stops. Connections on the entire Warsaw–Lublin route are planned to launch in November.

In Mazovia, trains between Czachówek Południowy and Warka will run on a new track from the October timetable adjustment. Passengers will board more conveniently from the higher platforms at stations in Warka and Chynów and at the Sułkowice, Krężel, Michalczew and Gośniewice stops.

In Greater Poland, too, trains will run on a modernized track from Rokietnica to Szamotuły on the Poznań–Szczecin route in the second half of October. New platforms are ready in Pamiątkowo and Baborówko.

From All Saints’ Day, passengers will use new platforms on the Tunel–Sosnowiec line between Charsznica and Jaroszowiec Olkuski: Gajówka, Jeżówka, Zarzecze and Chrząstowice Olkuskie. In November, the platform in Kościan is planned to be put into service on the modernized route from Poznań to Wrocław.

PKP Intercity: better connections for the Lublin Voivodeship and additional trains

The October timetable adjustment will provide, among other things, better rail connections for the Lublin Voivodeship and Lublin. After more than two years, the first PKP Intercity trains will run on the Dęblin–Lublin section. From 20 October to 13 November, two pairs of the carrier’s trains will travel directly from Warsaw to Puławy. At the same time, replacement bus transport will be launched on the Puławy Miasto–Lublin and Puławy Miasto–Nałęczów routes. From 14 November to 14 December, two pairs of trains will travel via Puławy and Nałęczów to Lublin.

The TLK Warta train running between Lublin and Gorzów Wielkopolski, in both directions, will travel via Konin on the Poznań Główny–Kłodawa section. It will not stop at Gniezno and Inowrocław Rąbinek stations; stops will be made at Słupca, Konin, Koło and Września in the direction of Poznań. This will significantly shorten the train’s travel time between Warsaw and Poznań.

IC Łokietek from Kraków and IC Syrena from Łódź will run to Warszawa Gdańska instead of Warszawa Wschodnia, bypassing Warszawa Centralna and Warszawa Wschodnia. The change applies from 19/20 October to 28/29 October and on the nights of 5/6 and 20/21 November.

PKP Intercity has scheduled additional trains for All Saints’ Day and 11 November:

  • EIC Ślęża on the Wrocław–Gdynia route – 2 and 9 November
  • EIC Ślęża on the Gdynia–Wrocław route – 3 and 11 November
  • TLK Jagna on the Łódź–Gdynia and Gdynia–Łódź routes – 1, 3, 9 and 11 November
  • TLK Zamoyski on the Przemyśl–Kraków route – 3 and 11 November
  • TLK Malinowski BIS on the Kraków–Warsaw route – 3 and 11 November.

PKP Intercity will also run an additional Pobrzeże BIS train, which will operate on the Łódź Kaliska–Warsaw–Gdynia route on Saturdays from 19 October to 7 December, except 2 November; instead, it will run on Friday, 1 November. In the opposite direction, it will run on Sundays, except 10 November; instead, it will run on Monday, 11 November.

Greater comfort for passengers at stations

In Warsaw, passengers will be able to use the new Warszawa Powązki stop from 1 November. It will provide better access to rail transport in the capital on the orbital line. Since October, an additional passage at Szczecin Główny station has enabled more efficient connections between platforms.

In Zduńska Wola, a new tunnel under the tracks provides a safe route to the platforms and connects two parts of the city. Passengers and residents in Pruszków and Jaworzyna Śląska use similar solutions. Jasienica in Mazovia has gained a grade-separated passage under the railway line. Another new platform is available in Piła, thanks to an investment on the Piła–Poznań line.

Journeys and investments

PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. is continuing work on railway routes. The largest projects involving the reconstruction of stations, stops and tracks include Warsaw–Poznań, Poznań–Wrocław, Szczecin–Poznań, Lublin–Warsaw and the Kraków railway junction.
