Bolesławiec criminal investigators, as a result of operational activities, identified and detained two people suspected of burglary at a building that until recently housed a special school. The perpetrators took advantage of the fact that the property was temporarily unused.
Two Bolesławiec residents, both aged 18, entered the building and tore cables from the walls. They later partially stripped them and sold them at a non-ferrous metal recycling facility for PLN 39.
Police detained the perpetrators the day after the break-in and recovered the cables that the teenagers had not yet managed to prepare for sale. The losses caused by the suspects’ criminal activity were estimated at PLN 7,000.
Police:
One of those detained will also answer for another offence because, at his place of residence, police officers found a bicycle that had been stolen from the stairwell of a block of flats at the beginning of September. The value of the recovered bicycle is PLN 1,500.
Both detainees have already been charged and provided explanations. They now face up to 10 years in prison.
