Our Reader asked us to publicize the issue. The reader pointed out the poor condition of Śluzowa Street’s surface, particularly the section from the intersection with Gdańska Street to the MPK stop by the cemetery. In an email to the editorial office, the reader wrote: “This is a horror. I think that about a month and a half ago, road crews removed the crumbling asphalt from the potholes, and since then both sides of the road have been full of bumps. The only reasonably passable section is the lane in the middle of the road.”
“The bumps on Śluzowa are inconvenient, but they do not endanger drivers’ safety,” assures Anatoliusz Koper, deputy head of the District Roads Authority.
Some potholes have already been repaired. We have established that the remaining ones will be fixed within two weeks. A major renovation of the street is planned for next year.
“We are fully aware that our roads need repairs. We plan and carry out the work as our available funds allow. Śluzowa Street is a very high priority for us,” assures Majka Nowak, spokesperson for the Starosty of Bolesławiec County. “This year, we managed to secure more than PLN 8 million, which we allocated to the ‘schetynówki’ road program and to rebuilding Karola Miarki and Żwirki i Wigury streets in Bolesławiec. This is a truly significant achievement. We ask the county’s residents for patience. It is simply impossible to carry out all the work at the same time.
