In the Lower Silesian final of the Coca-Cola Cup tournament, held on June 7 in Wrocław, players from the Middle School in Nowogrodziec finished in second place, while Piotr Potocki was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper.
In the group stage, Zbigniew Skwarek’s players defeated Wrocław Middle School No. 38 by 2–1 and the Middle School in Gryfów, also by 2–1. In the semifinal, after a hard-fought match, the Nowogrodziec footballers defeated the team from Middle School No. 1 in Ząbkowice by 5–2. Unfortunately, in the final they lost to the strong team from Middle School No. 1 in Lubin.
The Middle School team from Nowogrodziec played with: Piotr Potocki, Marek Pławiak, Michał Nowak, Jakub Piekarz, Kamil Gajewski, Kacper Wrzeszcz, Daniel Nowak, Rafał Tabor, Krystian Szczepański and Damian Bober. The following players also participated in the qualifying tournaments: Jarosław Mazur, Norbert Fila, Arkadiusz Horochowski, Patryk Michalski and Przemysław Borny.
