But a false bomb alarm — pursuant to Article 224a of the Criminal Code — is a crime punishable by up to eight years in prison.
There are also so-called malicious alarms. Strazacki.pl:
- residents of Zakopane reported fires at different houses in Zakopane six times in succession, putting all the services on the highest state of readiness. They faced up to eight years in prison.
- a resident of Głuchołazy in the Opole region made more than 5,000 calls to the emergency numbers of the fire service and ambulance service
- On December 26 and 27 and January 1, the fire service received three reports of fires in the village of Przędzel. The perpetrator called from different numbers, pretending to be someone else each time. A resident of Przędzel was held responsible for false fire reports in his locality. The man mobilized the fire service three times by reporting fires involving straw and a barn
- the emergency services were mobilized. It was all because of a false report about a child who was supposed to have fallen beneath the ice. The false alarm was made by an 11-year-old girl, for whom the report was a joke.
Uniformed officers appeal:
Let us use emergency numbers responsibly!
