A reader wrote to us via Facebook:
I would like to raise the issue of farm machinery [...]. On Monday night, together with a group of friends, I saw a tractor with a sprayer (such a set weighs a good several tonnes) driving onto the bicycle path from the direction of Bolesławiec after leaving the field. It went past the old PKP station, exited the path and headed to a farm at the beginning of Warta.
I cannot say how far it drove, but does that matter? Even if it only drove a short distance, this path was built for a different purpose. If every working driver takes “shortcuts,” unfortunately we will not be able to enjoy it for long (and it is clear from what we see and hear that [droga] is attracting a great deal of interest and approval). The pressure of so many tonnes will adversely affect the surface, not to mention the dirt that will be left behind.
And he added:
Many people wrote that it is a nuisance, most often people who use roller skates, but clumps of soil are also not exactly convenient for people on bicycles.
And he emphasized:
This post is intended to draw attention to the matter so that such an incident does not happen again and the path can serve people for many good years to come.
Let us remind you that this is not the first report of this kind. In March last year, we already reported that cars and farm machinery were driving over the brand-new bicycle path.
