Two years ago, Anna and Piotr Waksmundzcy set off on the journey of their lives. First, they spent eight months exploring Central and South America by bicycle. They then went to France, where they worked as volunteers with donkeys throughout the summer holidays. They fell in love with these animals and bought their first donkeys.
They then worked in Switzerland. Only now—this time on foot—are they returning home. And once again, from France. They are accompanied on the journey by three male donkeys: 13-year-old Coco, 8-year-old Bonhomme and 4-year-old Fog. For the sake of clarity, the animals carry only luggage.
The five of them have already travelled more than 500 km in this way. Recently, they visited our county.
What will the Waksmundzcy family do when they return home? They will establish the Osiołkowo farm in Baszowice (the municipality of Nowa Słupia), in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. This is their dream. By the end of September, the farm is expected to have eight donkeys.
As Anna says, travelling with donkeys is enjoyable because they are wonderful animals that are practically self-sufficient.
