On Saturday (27 July) in Żagań, Sebastian Tylutki’s players played their first friendly match ahead of the new season. The clearly rejuvenated BKS team coped very well with the extreme heat and looked better in the first half than the newly promoted fourth-tier side. Our team controlled the game and quickly took the lead. In the 10th minute, Oskar Pochwała provided a good pass for Adrian Puzio. The young midfielder struck a well-placed shot from outside the penalty area to put us 1–0 ahead. The hosts tried to reduce the deficit, but BKS’s defence did not allow Czarni Żagań’s attacking unit to show what it could do. In this part of the match, Adrian Puzio had two more chances to score, but the score did not change before the break.
In the second half, the hosts looked better and at times took the initiative. The effects of Czarni Żagań’s improved play were not long in coming. In the 50th minute, Czarni scored from a corner and the score became 1–1. In the remainder of the match, there were many good chances in front of both goals. In the 66th minute, we regained the lead. Kamil Skiba played a superb pass to send Oliwier Gasiak through one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The BKS midfielder had no trouble scoring and put our team 2–1 ahead. In the closing stages, both teams had several chances to score, but the result did not change, and BKS Bolesławiec ultimately defeated Czarni Żagań 2–1.
