The Bolesławiec Business Association, which had existed since the 1990s and whose primary aim was “providing comprehensive assistance to people running a business or intending to start one,” has ended its activities.
– I believe BTG could not be saved. Our best people naturally moved on. Younger people were very happy to take advantage when something was organized for them, but they were not eager to engage in community work themselves. The era of doing something for someone without receiving money for it has passed. I regret the “Young Entrepreneur” competition, organized by entrepreneurs who, on that occasion, shared their experience with young people – says Józefina Witas, a longtime member of BTG.
– It is a little sad, but there were no successors. That chapter had to be closed. BTG had its good points, but unfortunately younger people were not eager to get involved; they have different methods of operating now – says Władysław Bakalarz, who was associated with the Association.
Let us recall that BTG had received numerous prestigious awards, including:
- The Lower Silesian Key to Success in the “Best Lower Silesian Non-Governmental Organization” category for 2004
- INNOVATION 2005 in the “Best Public-Private Partnership” category
- The Honorary Award of the Mayor of Bolesławiec for promoting the city in 2005.
