On the first day of July, firefighters from Bolesławiec County went out 7 times for rescue and firefighting operations. The first call was to extinguish a grass fire in Ławszowa.
After 9:00 a.m., operations were conducted at a reservoir near Gierałtów. A person who had drowned was being searched for. A specialist diving team took part in the several-hour operation. Unfortunately, the information was confirmed and the missing person was indeed found in the reservoir.
At practically the same time, two trucks collided in Raciborowice. At the scene, medical assistance was provided to two injured people, among other measures.
After 5:00 p.m., a forest fire broke out near Ławszowa. Firefighting operations, conducted in difficult weather and terrain conditions, lasted more than 6 hours. Ten units (PSP and OSP) took part in the operation. Firefighting aircraft dropped water on the burning forest.
After 11:00 p.m., a report was received of a barn on fire in Tomisław. Komenda Powiatowa Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Bolesławcu:
Upon arriving at the fire scene, the firefighters primarily focused their efforts on preventing the adjacent utility rooms and the nearby residential building from catching fire. Fortunately, no one was injured. The operation lasted more than 3 hours and involved 10 units.
Shortly after midnight, firefighters received a report of a passenger car on fire at kilometer 51 of national road No. 18. The car’s engine compartment burned out; there were no injured people.
That same night, shortly after 2:00 a.m., a report was received of wood burning near a garage. The firefighters extinguished the fire.
In total, there were 7 incidents on July 1, and by the end of July 2, as many as 14 incidents had occurred.
