Farmers poisoned several thousand bees belonging to a resident of Czerna. And this is not the first case of this kind. “Already last year, I intervened in Gmina Nowogrodziec and in my village,” the beekeeper told istotne.pl. “I am constantly fighting with farmers so that they carry out spraying after 8:00 p.m. They know when it is time to spray, but despite that, they break these bans.”

The reader explained to us that he moved two hives to his brother-in-law’s property in the locality of Dobra because the acacia trees had just blossomed there.

The flying bees, those that collect nectar, were affected by the chemicals. “The bees were gentle and did not bother anyone; they caused no harm to anyone,” says the beekeeper. He immediately adds: “The queen, thank God, survived. But there will be no honey this year…”

The bee colony can, in fact, be rebuilt, but only next year. The beekeeper wants to appeal to farmers to carry out spraying during the designated hours. “I am not doing this for myself,” he explains. “I am doing it for the common good.”
