On Sunday, 19 May, official ceremonies were held in Legionowo to mark the 100th anniversary of the city being granted its name. The ceremonies were accompanied by a military picnic, during which Minister of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak presented commemorative plaques to outstanding military athletes. Among those honored was Kamil Makoś, an artilleryman from Bolesławiec and an excellent runner.

Minister Błaszczak:

Military athlete soldiers—aren’t they wonderful? They do so much for Poland on the international stage. We thank them precisely for taking care to showcase the abilities of the Polish Armed Forces. We have excellent soldiers, including military athletes!
