On 16 May 2019, the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda signed the Act of 26 April 2019 amending the Act on state aid in raising children and certain other acts.
What does this mean?
Under the amendments, the benefit under the “Family 500 plus” programme will also be available for the first child in a family, regardless of income. In addition, the act extends support to children staying in social welfare homes and in institutional forms of foster care.
– If we want to move in the same direction as Western Europe, benefits of this kind, which support families, are necessary. Because they are standard in Western European countries, Andrzej Duda stressed on Thursday. Details are available on prezydent.pl.
