The hosts took the lead as early as the 10th minute, when, following a free kick and confusion in Bartosz Bochnia’s penalty area, Sebastian Burda put the ball into the net Sebastian Burda. From that moment on, our players dominated on the pitch and set about making up the deficit. There were many chances. Following a long-range shot by Daniel Ziółkowski, the ball hit the post of Stal Chocianów’s goal. Later in the match, the BKS midfielder had two more good opportunities to equalise, but once the ball went over the hosts’ crossbar and once the Stal goalkeeper produced a fine save.
The picture of the game did not change after the break. Our boys attacked, while Stal Chocianów focused on defending. Even after Damian Puzio was shown a red card, the BKS Bolesławiec players imposed their style and controlled the game. In the closing stages, we had four chances to score. Marek Majka had an excellent one-on-one opportunity, but at the last moment the hosts’ goalkeeper knocked the ball away from him. Debutant Dorian Latała made a fine header and came very close to scoring on his debut. Unfortunately, despite their determined play, we failed to score even once, and another defeat became a fact.
This Saturday at Spółdzielcza, BKS Bolesławiec will play Sparta Grębocice, in what may be a match to secure their survival in the IV league.
