Concerned neighbours from Jana Pawła II Street called the police to an elderly woman’s apartment. They had not seen her for two weeks, and an unpleasant smell was spreading through the stairwell. The police officers who arrived at the scene tried to enter the apartment, but no one opened the door. For this reason, the fire service was called.
The firefighters used a vehicle with a ladder and entered the apartment through an open window. It turned out that the woman was safe and well.
It is not known why she had not opened the door to her neighbours and the police when they tried to check whether everything was all right.
