The volleyball tournament under the patronage of the Starost will be held on May 25 in the sports hall at Primary School No. 1 (Jana Pawła II Street).

TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. The Tournament is organized by the County Centre for Education and Staff Training – Inter-School Sports Centre in Bolesławiec.
  2. The aim is to promote sport and a healthy lifestyle, popularize volleyball as a form of physical activity, and integrate residents of Bolesławiec County.
  3. The tournament will be played on Saturday, May 25, 2019, in the new sports hall of Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec, at 38 Jana Pawła II Street. The tournament starts at 10:00 a.m.
  4. Only adult residents of Bolesławiec County are entitled to participate in the tournament.
  5. The competition is recreational, and participation is voluntary and at the participants’ own risk.
  6. Only amateurs may participate, meaning people not registered for competitions organized by the Voivodeship Volleyball Associations or the PZPS.
  7. Registering for the competition constitutes a declaration that there are no health contraindications to participating in sports competitions.
  8. Participants are not covered by accident insurance provided by the organizer.
  9. A team may consist of a maximum of 12 players, while the minimum number of registered players is 6.
  10. Teams may be men’s, women’s or mixed.
  11. At least 6 players must be on the court during a match.
  12. Players are prohibited from changing teams during the tournament.
  13. Teams should, where possible, wear matching sports uniforms and must wear clean sports footwear.
  14. Depending on the number of teams registered, matches will be played in one group or several groups on a round-robin basis. If the teams are divided into groups, semifinals will be played after the group matches, followed by matches for third and first place.
  15. If no final is played, the order of places will be determined successively by: points earned, better set ratio, the head-to-head match, and better small-points ratio. A team receives 2 points for a win, 1 point for a loss, and 0 points for a walkover. All matches will be played as best of three sets. The first and second sets will be played to 25 points with a 2-point advantage (sets may be shortened if a large number of teams register), while the third set, the tiebreak, will be played to 15 points with a 2-point advantage.
  16. Each match will be officiated by a court referee. The organizer will provide refereeing for every match—the head referee will officiate the entire match alone and make the final decision in disputed matters.
  17. Only the playing captain is authorized to speak with the referees in order to request clarification of the application or interpretation of the rules.
  18. The organizer is not responsible for: players’ insurance, or items stolen or damaged during the tournament.
  19. The organizer is not responsible for accidents that may occur during the competition.
  20. The direct perpetrators are responsible for damage caused at the facilities where the competition takes place.
  21. Throughout the competition, all teams are responsible for accompanying persons, conduct on the court, order in the changing rooms, and so on.
  22. Smoking cigarettes and consuming alcoholic beverages are prohibited at the sports facilities.
  23. The organizer reserves the right to amend the above rules.
  24. By participating in the tournament, players consent to the processing of their personal data and image by the organizer.
  25. Entries will be accepted by email at mosbol@wp.pl until May 19, 2019.
  26. The entry should include:
    • the team’s full name
    • the players’ first and last names, dates of birth and residential addresses
    • the team captain’s first and last name
    • the team captain’s contact telephone number and email address
  27. Failure to submit the signed declaration will result in the player being barred from the competition. A team’s entry in the tournament also constitutes acceptance of the rules by all players.
  28. During the competition, the organizer will provide first-aid care and mineral water.
  29. The right to interpret these rules belongs exclusively to the organizer, who also has the right to amend them.
