The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 17, at approximately 10:30 p.m., at the 26th kilometre of the A4 motorway (roughly near Czerna, Nowogrodziec municipality).
According to the officers’ findings, the driver of an Opel, a 24-year-old man from Lubin, failed to keep a safe distance and collided with the rear of a BMW driven by a 35-year-old German man. (A woman and two children were also travelling in the car.)
The force of the impact was so great that the BMW crashed into a Passat, which in turn hit another Volkswagen Passat. The second Passat then collided with another VW.
The BMW passenger was injured in the pile-up. She was taken to hospital. Fortunately, it turned out that she had not suffered anything more serious.
The case will be decided in court.
