The incident occurred on Sunday, 14 April, shortly before midnight. An employee of a farm called the dispatch centre of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec and asked the uniformed officers for help freeing a bull. The animal’s head had become stuck between a metal element of the pen and the floor.
Firefighters:
During an attempt at an “illegal departure” from the pen, the bull pushed its head under a metal fence pipe and tried to squeeze under the fencing.
The escape attempt failed. The bull became stuck lying down, which could even have resulted in its death.
Volunteer firefighters from Wykroty (the Nowogrodziec gmina), using hydraulic arm cutters, cut through the 6-cm-diameter pipe and literally helped the young bull get back on its feet.
The uniformed officers add:
The firefighters’ swift operation ended successfully. The bull returned “behind bars”—and now has time to plan its escape better.
