At the request of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Wrocław Branch, work is underway on the preparation of design documentation for the project “Expansion of the transport system, including the reconstruction of the existing bridge and construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr River along national road no. 94 (formerly no. 4) in Bolesławiec”.
As part of the project, a nature inventory has been carried out, on the basis of which materials are being prepared to obtain an environmental decision (DŚU). The planned date for obtaining the DŚU is the third quarter of 2019.
Preparatory work is currently underway to determine the geological-engineering and hydrogeological conditions. Once a decision authorising geological works has been obtained, geological-engineering boreholes will be drilled, enabling the preparation of geological-engineering and hydrogeological documentation. (The boreholes are to be drilled in the second quarter of this year.)
The documentation is being prepared by Biuro Projektów “Trasa” from Poznań. Municipal officials:
The contractual value of the documentation is PLN 760,140. The contract for the documentation runs from 3 August 2018 to 31 December 2021 and includes author’s supervision during the execution of the works.
As part of the investment, a new bridge over the Bóbr River is planned (north of the existing bridge), as well as the reconstruction of the existing bridge.
What does this mean?
Two twin bridge structures will be built in parallel, each carrying a two-lane roadway, a pavement and a cycle path, ensuring good connections between the two riverbanks—not only for motor vehicles, but also for pedestrians and cyclists.
At both ends of the bridge crossing, intersections with central islands (so-called turbo roundabouts) are planned, with dimensions ensuring smooth traffic flow and complete freedom to choose the direction of travel.
Bus bays will be built at the western intersection, enabling public transport to be used safely while improving its operation.
