The incident occurred on provincial road 297 in Pławna Górna. The funeral company transporting a body for cremation from Lwówek Śląski to Jelenia Góra had failed to secure the vehicle properly. While driving, the coffin fell onto the road. The company employees did not notice it.
Other drivers who noticed the coffin on the road immediately informed the 112 emergency number about the incident.
An investigative team worked at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor. Another vehicle has already taken away the coffin containing the body.
