On Thursday, March 21, during the morning hours, several pieces of unexploded ordnance were found at the site where the Stary Dworzec retail park, developed by Antan Development Polska (or, more precisely, in the embankment), is being built. There are probably around 10 of them.
Some of them are armed and highly dangerous. Unofficially, we have learned that their effective range is approximately half a kilometre.
The operation to remove the dangerous finds is scheduled to begin at around 5:00 p.m. They will be handled by Bolesławiec’s No. 23 Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol. Earlier, from 3:00 p.m., approximately three thousand people will be evacuated, including residents of Staroszkolna, Chrobrego, Gałczyńskiego, Hutnicza and Wańkowicza streets, as well as employees of nearby businesses and shops.
Attention! Those who have nowhere to go may go to the gymnasium of Primary School No. 1 on Jana Pawła II Street. (People covered by the evacuation order will be able to use transportation.) Emergency services are helping bedridden people evacuate.
The police ask everyone to strictly follow the instructions issued by the officers. Residents are expected to return home after the sappers’ operation is completed, at around 8:00 p.m.
